This puts me in mind of some of the recent Eels stuff, Willard Grant Conspiracy, Jorma Kaukonen’s solo work, Lambchop...it has that sort of off-kilter storyteller quality to it, like anecdotes from an uncle who’s gone a bit odd. The High Art of Creating an Atmosphere abounds here.

I like the guitar and the tone of it's. Very soothing all around. The vocals especially. You've mixed everything pretty good.
Only thing that I just couldn't feel fitting in, was the drums. It's clearly (well to me anyway) way too electronic for an acoustic piece. Plus they tend to go off-beat once in a while too. I can sympathize on that tho' (I had and still have problems with slow tempos) since some of the hits were quite some distance away from each other and the bigger the pause between a note, the harder it is to keep up the tempo.
So in summary... this song has very nice guitars and vocals, but the drums in pretty much anything I can't see fit (the sound is the first thing to make me think like this. I can't see an acoustic set fit on this either. Drums just don't sound good on this otherwise great piece) Normal set of percussions would fit much more better, but only if used very lightly. Everything in my humble opinion of course.

I'm lovin' the bass. You switch up the percussion a bit too, which is nice. Your backing vocals remind me of P.J. Olsson, which is really cool. The only thing that seemed out of place was the handclaps. They were too muddy.

Definitely psychedelic Like The Animals and T Rex I love the warm feeling the bass gives like a washed out woodstock performance its a good vibe The percussions take on the theme of the song they're 'raining'
And just like the little [Alice Cooperesq] narrative at the end - the drums are the building blocks of a song

Yeah.... I picked up that Hot Tuna vibe also..... a little Cat Stevens in there. It is a very kewl little piece. Produced and mixed well..... Maybe a more hippy like bongo part as apposed to the full kit.... but the kit works..... Vocals are good – you possess a unique vocal timbre - harmonies work well.

The vocals, the percussion, the guitar (blew me away). I do agree with the fact that it has a 60/70's vibe to it but then that could just be me. I always felt like I grew up in the wrong era anyway. Janis Joplin IS one of my favorites!! I feel like Oliver...please sir I want some more

Unique, reminds me of old school aussie rock like that "out on the patio we sit" thing, the declaimed singing is what mainly reminds me of that. The reverb and chorus (or was it just reverb *scratches head*) actually works to your advantage because it makes it sound like more of a group so its like a community waiting for the rain, love the effect (I'm often not a big fan of echo's on vocals). Like the sound effects of a rain and thunder . the ending 'vocals' are quite funny I dont know why... But they just strike me as some what humourous. Good job 9.2/10

This is beautifully relaxing like sitting in the park in spring just before the blanched sun kicks in big time in June, peaceful and hypnotic, the guitar sounds sweet as a nut, the vocals are comforting and the sweet melody running through is like a meandering stream, ending on a thoughtful moment or two of spoken prose, surreal and original Thank you

I love the this theme! It makes for a wonderful instrumental break between the verses (which are delivered in an interesting style, to say the least. Props!). The vocals aren't always intelligible, but they sound great, especially in the chorus "...the summer rain!" Nice drums. I have no idea what you're saying in the conclusion, but the rain sample is a wonderful (albeit predictable) touch. Nice job!

First off, I just love the title! Evansorchid made the same mistake as me to begin (she thought you were singing 'Submarine') but I quickly realise this is 'summer rain'. I really like the effects you have on the vocals, and I like what I think are hand-claps. Ahhh sound effects! Yes! Great! The talking part is really dramatic. It makes me think of native indians and rain dances - there's something in the tone that's shaman chant like. Loving it! Not very eloquent tonight, but I really like this!

A gorgeous guitar intro to this one.
Great twinned vocals get things rolling.
"waiting for the Summer rain"--I have that feeling all the time--that sense that there'll be a break, a mist, the scent of far-off approach, and then the release.
The world does just keep on turning sometimes.
The pacing of this one fits its lyrics very well.
The guitar lines almost have a tenderness about them. I like that a lot.
Listening to this song is anything but a dire situation.

I don't think I have ever seen this many replies to one song on Dmusic.
Your vocals seem to have a Frank Zappa feel for me. We need more intrspective artists like him in this day and age.
I think a sound byte of Bruce Lee saying, "Be water my friend" would complete this.

This is really a great song! I love the different sound effects. And guitar work is really clear and great. I LOVE the main guitar lick. I also love the lyrics! Very cool song!

I like gentler music and this I truly enjoyed. Love the dark and slightly quirky vocal. Great song, very pleasing indeed.
