I agree great intro - love the analog synth!
This has a really stong 70's pop/rock hit feel.
Nice vocal layering & beautiful flow - I am feeling a grand mix of Genesis & Germam Style Prog Rock flavour here, exceptionally well done too!
Wonderful original work here Gene - I am blow away!

Very well done and very tasteful...I like the sound recording a lot, the Eq is a bit thin on the drums an a bit to thick on the guitars and vocals for my mix preference but thats a matter of choice..The melody, arrangements and music are awesome!!great track!!!!

Wow those vocal harmonies are just great. I always love hearing you sing Gene so this is double good! This is such a great heartfelt song thats trying reaching out to the one you love. It got that trippy old style folk about it that I just love. Wish I was stoned right now listening....oh well.

This is nice, I can hear lots of different bands in this song from start to finish, your vocals are just perfect for this song, I love the way the synth just blends in the backround behind the sweet guitar tones that weave a tapestry of musical colours very nice lyrics too

I'm loving the overall sound of this song. It sounds so mellow with it's slow tempo, warm electric guitar, synthesizer action and the close harmonies in the vocals. If you can get acoustic drums for this piece, I would use them here. The electronic drum beat doesn't seem to fit with all of the other cool acoustic elements.
Also, just a touch of reverb on the vocals would round out the sound a bit. There's nothing wrong with dry vocals but adding a little wetness would make the sound even better. Multiply the wetness by two with your harmonies and the vocals would have a three dimensional sound that would compliment the three dimensional instrumentation that you already have minus the electric drums.
I enjoyed listening to this piece with it's synthesizers and its mellow psychedelic sound. Thanks for sharing!

Hiya Dmers Thank you all so much for
listening and commenting on this song it's
like 180 degrees dif from my last f4n original which was "Cosmic Man"to me everything starts to sound the same if ya
dont do a change up frequently
Thanx Cathy for all the tips!and I must and You for the longest comments I've seen from you at this site~am I right? I appreciate the honesty Originally this song didn't have a percussion track it was all internal timing but,I felt it needed a minimal percussion track and thats why percussion is so low in the mix I didn't want it to compromise the other parts..
anyway thanx for the honest feedback.and to all the listeners Are the vocals understandable or do I need to include lyrics here?

"She may be hiding in her garden, tending to the daffodils" -- the lyrics are very clear, Gene, and super sweet! I hear a little touch of country in this; I grew up listening to all things country, and this feels like an old friend instead of a new acquaintance.
I agree it's different for you, but you ARE right-- you have to change or start repeating yourself, and this is just such a perfect fit for you. I like the mix exactly the way it is, there is nothing I would change.

This isn't the most polished of your tracks and that's just what I like about it. From the Lennon-esque guitar to the warm sunshine vocal it's an enjoyable listen. Not so sure about the buzzy synth though, but maybe that adds to the charm.

When some of the more “artsy” of the late ‘60s to mid ‘70s Punk crowd started HAVING FUN WITH musical standards rather than simply MAKING FUN OF them...that’s what this puts me in mind of. Kind of a John Cale goes to the tropics kinda feel, maybe. Or for that matter, any number artists of the “non-native falls in love with the islands” sort (Can you say “Jimmy Buffet”, kids? Very good!)...it’s just a bit smoother than the latter, a bit more substantial and artsy than the former, like one of Harry Nilsson’s musical fables (to drop the name of another great who played around with island culture sounds). That last analogy was probably the most accurate, and that quality adds another really sweet bit of variety to your body of work here at DMusic.

A quirky journey through a brilliantly colorful fantasy.
It's like Jimmy Buffett meets Tom Petty in an Alice in Wonderland type of dream.
The odd drum synchronization kinda grows on you after a few minutes.
This is really a fun piece...I enjoyed it thoroughly!

I really like your singing in this! And the harmonizing is really really nice to the ears The drums in this are pretty cool too, I like the toms Nice synth too, really gives the song a different feel. This song easily falls into my favorite song from you, it just really shows off your voice!! It's always the slower songs that show of the vocal potential of an individual, and this song DEFINITELY does your voice justice... Overall, a very well-put together track. Also, around 4:45, very very cool ending. I like what you were doing with the drums
